Week 30 - Hiccups
by Cindy
from the internet:
"Week 30: Baby packs on pounds
Your baby weighs about 3 pounds — but not for long. He or she will gain about 1/2 pound a week until week 37.
Your baby may practice breathing by moving his or her diaphragm in a repeating rhythm. If your baby gets the hiccups, you may feel slight twitches or spasms in your uterus."
And indeed! Last night I woke up to a repeated bounce from my belly and it was like a heartbeat, rythmic, but I knew that couldn't be it as they were too far apart (about 2 full seconds). Of course groggy at 3am it took me a while to think through logically but then I came to the conclusion that this was hiccups! He's big enough now that they'd feel strong. And just now, following a big lunch, he's hiccuping again. Poor little fella. It kept me up in the middle of the night, but now although its a weird feeling, I can just plough on with work. ... which I should get back to now! Ta ta!
