Drooling Drooling Drooling

There's so much to learn with a baby! In the past week I noticed Jordan drools - all the time as though he was teething - of course this is not the case. I found out that this is because their mouths start to produce saliva around now and they don't know how to swallow it yet. Up until now he's had pasty mouth.
You learn something new every day!

He's 11.5lbs now. We're still feeding pretty much every 2 hours - even through the night although sometimes we go 3hrs and hopefully this improves as he gets older. I keep him in the bed later in the night to make this easier for us both.

As I write this Jordan is 7 weeks + 4 days corrected age. He is able to sit supported with his back straight and hold his head without much lagging. I'd start putting him in the Bumbo chair except for his head still needing a little bit of time. When he gets tired it bobs a bit. He will also straighten his legs to stand, right from the crouched position. This combined with his straight back is amazing for us. Knowing most milestones will be from Jordan's corrected age we know that some of his muscle strength will have been started well before this.

He loves his vibrating bouncy chair and will nap in it quite well. He's not so much a fan of tummy time but this is not a necessary development step provided he'll otherwise hold his head up. But he loves to sit held on a lap facing you and watch your mouth move with words or sound effects. His eyes pop out of his head when we make a motor boat sound with our lips. I'll try to video it and post soon.

Jordan's becoming addicted to soothers but we'd rather that than his thumb which he tries to get in his mouth along with his entire fist. He also loves accompanying either Chris or I in the wrap or sling around home while we do dishes, laundry or any other chore needed.

There's plenty more but I'll save that for another time!

He's almost caught up to Autumn's weight. Good show. Wow. Yeah the drooling is all part of it. We could have sworn that Autumn was teething a couple of weeks after she was born. LOL. He looks great Cindy and Chris. Way to go Jordan.
