CALVIN, BEAVER & CURIOUS GEORGE all live with us
Oh yes, I said it. Calvin (as in & Hobbes), sweet Beaver Cleaver and Curious George all live with us.
Because we never know which one we're going to get some times. I say this tongue in cheek of course because Jordan is our angel! However, some of the shenanigans he gets up to make us shake our heads.
This is what the BEAVER Jordan does:
- Amazing hugs, for us and his stuffed animals
- Kisses Kisses Kisses
- Blows kisses
- Points and shouts "bebe!"
- Loves books. He'll carry a book bigger than himself over to you, stumbling all the way, so that you'll read it to him.
- Waves "hello world" from our patio window with me to all the people and cars.
- Goes to bed usually without complaint. He'll even head up the stairs on his own when I ask him if its time for Night Night.
- Brushes his teeth - mostly
- Still a great dancer. Better by the day and makes everyone laugh when he does. Today he mastered 'head banging' with me. ha ha ha
- Has just now responded in sign language. He has always understood the basics I used to use. Milk, More, Eat. But he never signed back. We think he signed Milk for awhile but I gave up using them. Without words still its hard but last week he signed Eat to me and yesterday and today used More when wanting more book!
CALVIN Jordan: (some of these are regular behaviours for his age of course)
- Has learned the rag doll when he's upset with us and we're holding him
- Knows when he's doing something bad and will look at you daring you to stop him
- Pulls food out of his mouth while eating a meal - if I put it back in he'll either just eat it or we repeat the process over and over
- Middle of the night wakings, recent and will wake up many times some nights (this started when he had a fever last week and is random)
- Things plugged in are his new favourite thing
- He must be strapped into his highchair as he's figured out how to stand in it
- Whacking the wall with toys
- Whacking the TV with toys
- Squishes our paper Ikea floor lamp
- Has demolished the top of our Ikea table lamp: evidence below
Beaver blowing kisses:
But in the end of course he's a good little boy, just a curious one. So here's the GEORGE the Curious Monkey stuff.
He's just too smart for us. Once he sees us perform a task he's all over it.
- Like pulling the chain to turn on the lamp - now he not only wants to pull the chain and pull the whole lamp over but tear it too, as above. Just to see how it works
- Or opening drawers, he'll climb up on anything to get to those drawers, even his collapsed stroller!
- Putting stuff (his hands mostly) in the garbage.
- Pulling the plug in the bath over and over, but trying to put it back again too
- Loves it when I spin him on Chris' office chair. Just one spin now and then, I don't need to clean up if he tosses his cookies
- When I visit friends with babies he's into everything he can reach where they never had issues with their own child discovering these awesome things until Jordan showed them!
The nice thing about moving is we'll be able to toddler proof from the start. He's a busy little boy and we just need to keep up!
