Palpable Baby

I was told by the midwife that Sweet Pea was palpable.
Very weird term to define a baby if you ask me.
Of course she meant that she could really feel her within my tummy as she felt over my belly. Sweet Pea's parts were all very easily defined. So she's palpable. Okay?

I do agree that Sweet Pea is easily defined. I can usually figure out what body part is poking me. It seems to be and its confirmed, that she enjoys the hammock style position. She should be turning shortly but for now her head is at my left belly and her bum and feet on my right. The midwife was able to find part of her down under my belly button too which means her butt sometimes sinks low. But it seems she's either found a position she likes or is lacking space to move much now that she's bigger... and its only going to get worse for her!

This week's appointment went fine. I met my new second midwife Janice. Kathleen is moving on and I'll miss her but Janice is a lovely lady as well. Hopefully this time I can have my midwives along side when I go into labour. Last time I couldn't since I was so early I had to go to a hospital that was not their assigned hospital. The same as an OB would have restrictions.

I have a hard time finding Sweet Pea's heartbeat sometimes while using the home system and the reason, I found out, is because my placenta is anterior, meaning at the front of my belly creating a wall instead of along the back of my uterus (posterior). Either way is fine as long as its not low again, which it doesn't seem to be.

She's not a mover and a shaker like Jordan was. She moves enough that I know she's well, but she seems only to move for smaller periods of time. Although there are times I feel like she's having a huge stretch and pushing the limits of my stretched belly. For 27 weeks she's a long baby it seems! And when she finds a position she likes she doesn't give it up. The crown of her head or her feet can make a permanent bulge in my belly for an hour sometimes! A little disturbing to wake up to in the middle of the night. Think *Alien*.

Apart from that there's not much to tell right now. Gaining weight and size as expected.
18lbs gained so far. Tummy at 36".

And scheduled belly portraits on March 12th! Very excited for those.

That's all for now everyone.
