Road Trip | Part 3 | Tobermory

THURSDAY JULY 7

The Chi-Cheemaun!

TOBERMORY - LATER THAT DAY

After arriving on the Chi-Cheemaun we checked into the Bruce Anchor Inn and headed off for dinner. We chose Bootlegger's Cove Pub situated on Big Tub Harbour. The view from the patio was gorgeous and we enviously checked out all the cottages across the harbour. Little did we know this would be the harbour our next day's adventure would start in! See Amber and I on the patio below.

After a great dinner the kids went to swim in Little Dunk's Bay. Again, with frigid temperatures they made dunking games to submerse themselves in the water. You can see the fog in the distance created by the hot air hitting the cold waters.

FRIDAY JULY 8
FLOWER POT ISLAND

Our glass bottomed boat ride started in Big Tub Harbour as mentioned below.
Because this harbour drops off 70ft down directly from the shoreline it acted as a rescue haven for large ships. A couple have sunk and you can see them clear as day through the surface! We saw two large ships under the water, very close to the surface. One of them built in our very own city of Burlington!

You can see the mast post.

Off to Flowerpot Island!

Once on the island we found tons of snakes. This is one of the many Garters hiding in the dock rocks sunning themselves.

Below: a rather large milk snake (same as the baby one we held at Science North)

Below: also a large snake, but this is a water snake

We missed our scheduled ferry back to the mainland so we burned some time letting the kids go play in the water... again.

Sunny weather all the way through we had a great vacation! Thanks Ontario!
