An Amazing Week

By Chris

I meant to write this earlier but got sidetracked over the last couple of days. But what an amazing week it was in lil' peanut land. As mentioned in the last post we had first contact on Wednesday night, and then on Thursday night we got our second first.

The kick!

Earlier in the evening Cindy had opened a gift we got in the mail from Johanne, a deck of cards with activities on it for Cindy and I to do during the pregnancy. It was great and there are lots of good suggestions for things to do. One of the cards had mentioned that the book "Oh the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Suess was written for babies in the womb (although apparently it's also quite popular as a valedictorian speech). A few weeks ago Laura gave us a book filled with Dr. Suess stories and wouldn't you know it, it included "Oh the Places You'll Go". So of course I had to read it to him. Which I did. And after it was done I went to put the book away and Cindy reached down to feel her belly and then... she felt it. Our Lil' Kicker.

So I came rushing over and put my hand on her belly and couldn't really feel anything. So I leaned in and said something like "Come on little buddy, kick for your dad." And he totally did.

And the point of this story is... he's awesome.
