Gone In 60 Seconds

There's been a lot of crawling going on around here! Speed crawling. Jordan is very good at escaping his play area so we've made sure to make way in the rest of the living/dining area so that when he's out and about its safe for him. We have a gate that we'll start using to keep him there, preventing him from getting as far as the kitchen because there he wants to play in the recycling and garbage can. He can get everywhere so fast and once there he pulls himself up to stand. He's pretty good at that now and doesn't fall often, except if he grabs something unstable. Jordan's starting to 'chase' and 'run away' while crawling. I started this with him at my parents a couple weeks ago and he seems to get a kick out of running away. I'm just glad he's not on his feet yet!

We think another teething phase has hit. Jordan's nose has been cherry red and now its running and we're keeping a diaper rash at bay. As well he's putting his fingers in his mouth to chomp all the time. In doing this he's now sucking his thumb more often. He did that when he was really small and then stopped so this is a revival of it. If he's tired he sticks his thumb in his mouth and other times it seems to just be soothing for his gums.

Jordan's almost mastered waving completely! He doesn't quite understand to wave to someone before they're out of sight but he's getting better at it. I explained this to a shop clerk so she was clever and turned her back peaking over her shoulder and he waved! We both had a good laugh because it was so cute.

He jabbers away when he's quite content and sometimes when either Chris or myself is out with Jordan, the other one still at home, can hear them returning as Jordan is chatting all the way from the elevator to our front door.

Jordan's got quite a taste for food now! Whereas he disliked avocado the first time I gave it to him he now loves it as well as squash, raisins, grapes, spinach, chicken, salmon, cheese, blueberries and of course peaches! I'm glad he's accepting a wide range of food. I've made a few recipes from a baby food book my sister Laura gave me - he really likes the food tastes all blended together. Thanks Laura! We're slowly giving him un-pureed food and he's getting used to it.

He's finally sleeping through the night! YAY! And he's weaned off nursing except the mornings so I can sleep through too! I still nurse him in the early morning because its much easier than heating a bottle and sometimes he'll go back to bed if its between 530-630.

Yesterday Jordan turned 11 months... wow. We can't believe how fast its flown by. This is a common phrase but its so true. Everyone has something to earmark time by and its shocking. To celebrate this day his Granny & Papa McCawley bought him a little gift... its official! Jordan has his first Thomas The Train toy! (no photo yet)

I seem to have run up quite a blog entry here so I'll quit now.
Here's some photos taken earlier this evening.

Digging through his toy box to find the perfect chew toy to satisfy his gums.

Here you can see his curls at the back!

As soon as I took this photo he raced off to the kitchen!

It really does fly by. I'm so happy for the both of you that he's sleeping his nights. How does it feel to sleep again?
He's looking handsome as ever.

So much fun isn't it. Bet he had fun running away in your parents place, that nice long hall. Love the curls. Autumn has some too. Brandon had some but they disappeared eventually. Next month they will be a year old. That is soooo unreal. Thought it went quick with my own children, this almost seems faster. Have fun.
