Our Baby Seal

Jordan has gotten his first big cold in about a year. Good old Croup Cough. How terrible a kick off it was! He woke suddenly Wednesday night at 11:30 coughing and choking and we could tell his airway was tight. We brought him to the Children's ER at St. Joe's. Thankfully they were quiet that night and fast with taking care of him. We had to put an Epi mist mask over his face for 15 minutes to give him immediate relief and, oh the fun that was. Poor little guy did not like it of course, he was so scared. He cried for 10 min while held the mask and him in place and then he gave in to quiet sobs after that. So awful.

The doctor came to see him and prescribed a liquid longer lasting treatment of what, I don't know. It was 12:30am at this time and the doctor spoke a mile a minute. However, we did ascertain that it would take 2-3 hrs to work and last 2-3 days. The nurse came in and gave it to Jordan in a syringe and they kept us there for a few hours to check on Jordan to make sure it worked. At 2:20am Jordan finally fell asleep on the bed beside me. Chris sat in the chair beside us trying to get comfy. At 4:30am a new doctor came to check on him and declared us free to go home. The fever he had while at the hospital has gone and not returned but a runny nose has now arrived. Jordan is pretty much in good spirits and sleeping well despite it all so far which is great. I have started to feel a dry cough unfortunately but it was almost unavoidable since we didn't know he was sick until he woke up coughing Wednesday night.

I know a lot of you reading this already know about it but I wanted to blog it for my reference too. Jordan's baby books and health journal are still packed away somewhere so I've no where else to record it!
Bye for now!

GET WELL SOON LITTLE GUY :(
Sunny days ahead :)
It's not fair, babies shouldn't be able to get sick! Thinking of you guys and glad he is on the mend.
