Dordie & The Hamburger's Fort
While Jordan was a way at Laura's we worked on the space for the kids' fort. Its been there for awhile and is not yet finished but we're getting closer and closer. It quickly becomes a dumping space so we need to be careful of that.
I'll be painting the main back wall with chalk board paint but with it being oil based I need to make sure we can have doors and windows open.
I'd also like to do the far right wall under the stair in white pain so they can use washable crayons on it.
Chris strung up some lights. Since there are no outlets (thankfully) we had to be creative on how to get lights in there. And this is fun yet not too bright.
Perhaps we'll drape some fabric so it feels more like a 'fort'.
For those of you who don't know and will quickly question; Dordie & The Hamburger are a mesh of Jordan's annunciations.
Younger he called himself Dordie.
And when Amber was born he tended to say Hamber. Which morphed into Hamburger.
I don't mind. Nicknames based on children's versions of names is always fun. Once Amber is old enough to pop her daddy in the chin for it, then it might stop. Or it might just be their little thing. *wink*
Chris now tells them a Dordie & The Hamburger Adventure every night before bed. Jordan gets to pick out two elements that he wants Chris to incorporate into the story which helps Chris come up with something new every night. Not that an imagination like that needs any help!
