Today's Update

Jordan now weighs 5lbs 7oz! (You may recall he was 3lbs 9oz when born)

This is quite impressive as his feeds had to be reduced. He wasn't able to tolerate the increases they had him on, it was causing him problems in his digestive system as he had before. So they gave him a rest off food for 24hrs a few days ago then started him on 15cc's increasing 1cc every 6 hours. Today he is now at 23cc's and tolerating fairly well. Tolerating means that he is digesting the food and that there is not a large amount left in his belly before the next feed. Last week he had almost half his feed not digesting and causing dilated intestines.

The slow and steady increase of food is going well and quite possibly his preemie belly just needed more time to develop. He was also having trouble stooling on his own, but this morning he managed to have a small one. (they say once you have a baby all you talk about is quantity and consistency of stool, but I do believe this is our first mention of it and hopefully last!)
