These Are A Few Of His Favourite Things...

Hello all!

Its been awhile since I've rambled about how Jordan's developing. (ha ha ha) So here you go!

Still no incisors, but some days it seems as though its happening. But then that might just be his independence kicking in. And has it ever! I'm happy he exerts it even though its tiring. He's got a strong personality, but we all knew this from day minus 66.5. He's certainly realized he has his own opinions on things. The past couple of months and moreover this past month he expresses it. But that's the age of 2 coming on! And no, I won't say Terrible Two's, that's an awful saying in my opinion. What I do think though is that its an amazing time. WE think it is. Chris is loving it too.

Along with Jordan having his own opinion is his desire to communicate it which pushes his language. Some words he just can't seem to wrap his mouth around though...
Thomas = Dobby as an example

But in other cases he's so clear. Monkey, knock-knock, Daddy and Water have all come out in the last couple days clear as a bell where previously they were "oooh-oooh-aaah-aaah, gach-gach, dada and wawa".
He said Thank You without prompting a couple of weeks ago. I've not heard it since, but its a start!

He's got favourite books and ran up and down the townhouse one day saying "Peek-a-Moo!" over and over.

Jordan also understands to change "You did it!" to "I did it!". That was fantastic to hear. He's still using it too. Not just a one off.

I see him steadying an object with one hand while trying to do something to it with the other now. He used to just use the one hand and said object would keep toppling. Not sure how long this has been happening but I just clued into it recently.

He's still going to bed without a problem. Some nightmares in the night but he'll usually go back down after he's calm. But the other night we had a pj time protest. The only thing that won him over were his new pj's from Granny & Papa with a tractor on it!

Teeth brushing is still fun and he lets me in there to help.

Counting - he can almost count in a song start! One, two... (but three is still missing) He mostly just likes One with the pointer finger in the air.

Jordan's Faves:
-Thomas the Train (like any toddler boy) in book, toy or TV form. He doesn't care.
-Shrek
-Cookie, Ernie, Big Bird (mostly in a book auntie Sarah got him) Oh and Elmo! How could I forget?
-Yo Gabba Gabba tv show
-His water table on the deck
-The see-saw at the park
-Going outside
-Waving and saying Hello to people he passes, then saying B-bye over and over until they're out of site
-Pointing out "Baby!" anywhere he sees someone under 3
-Jumping while Chris or I hold him in our arms
-Dancing - he's got some crazy moves when he's comfortable
-Baby videos and photos online or on our camera
-His activity table (featured photo). Freebie my teacher friend helped me get! 4 cute chairs too. I'm going to paint it so it doesn't look so used. I figure a white table top is a good way to keep some drawings forever.
-Crayons on the wall, they're really washable! (lucky for him)
-BATH TIME, wow, does he ever love bath time! He runs so fast yelping when you mention it, straight to the bath and won't wait for a drop of water to hit the tub before he's in there waiting for it to fill up. Its very cute.

For now I think I've gone on long enough...
Love and hugs,

Yes, they definitely decide what they like, what the want, what they are willing to do....and so on at this age. Sometimes there is just no changing their minds. Very very challenging at times and a bit of frustration but very interesting. LOL. Jordan seems to be enjoying life and that's wonderful. Be nice to spend some time with him again.
