26 Week Midwife Visit
by Cindy
Last week's visit to the midwife went well. Gained 14lbs now! Glucose and protein tests all good. Peanut's a good size and a happy baby.
After hearing the heartbeat again, which is so great as always, the midwife and I discussed the position of Peanut which I mentioned to her was more horizontal than vertical. He's pretty much been laying with his head on my right side and my feet on my left. I can always feel his kicks down near my lower left belly and where she found the heartbeat confirms this. Its like he's in a hammock! Nothing wrong with it, but she wanted me to start thinking about exercises and positions that will let him start turning around.
What else...? Hmmm... Chris and I went to Babies R Us yesterday to register and pick out some stuff. That was pretty fun!
Sarah and Laura and I all hung out on Friday where we were selling our baby/toddler silk screen clothing and they spent the day feeling for kicks and trying to get him going. Since he usually sleeps when I'm in a largely noisy space it was hard to wake him. Although Sarah then got right down talking to my belly. In the end he did come around and kicked for them. Some big ones too. I think he realized he couldn't let his auntie's down! Next weekend it'll be my parents' turn to finally see us in person since I've been growing. I have a feeling he'll show off and kick a plenty.
