Charlie Brown - 22 Week Midwife and Ultrasound

by Cindy
Well, I managed to get another unscheduled ultrasound last Thursday (Aug 28th) and it was fantastic! I went to a walk in very early so that I didn't have to wait too long so the little Peanut was still quiet. He's pretty much on my sleep schedule which I find comical and really comforting at the same time - cause ya'll know I love my sleep.
So the technician was doing all the checking up on everything I was sent there for and she starting chuckling and pocking my belly saying "Wake up boy, come on wake up. Move for me." She explained he was just yawning and stretching - then turned the monitor so I could see him and right at that moment he fully stretched and let out a big yawn! It was amazing to see. Just another step to him developing into the little guy we're waiting for! She took a quick shot of him which you can see above and in full at the bottom. Chris pointed out right away that he looks like Charlie Brown - ironic since we call him Peanut!
I also had a midwife visit last Wednesday and I've now gained 8lbs. (just one pound more than my cousin at her 22 week mark - she is 10 weeks ahead of me!) I'm barely making it with an elastic around my button hole on my jeans these days. However they have these great stretchy waistbands (at Jean Machine of all places!) that you just put over the waistband of your jeans to hide the not quite zipped zipper and then pull your shirt over. Great disguise and way to avoid elastic pants! ...although as I can't wear my oh so comfie stretch pants everyday to work, elastic pants aren't too far away. But knit dresses and leggings are thankfully in style! Those will carry me for awhile too. Okay enough about my waist expansion... borrrrrrrrring...
What I will mention is his kick-kick-kicking! Yup. A LOT. Its great. (right now anyway) And his kicks are always at the left, he's found a comfy position and is sticking to it! Now that I've seen his stretch, I can feel it. Pushing with his little feet on one side and slightly less pushing with his hands on the right. When I lay down at night on my left side he kicks like mad for about 10 min and then goes to sleep. I've starting poking his little foot back, then he pushes, then I poke, then he pushes and is done. (short attention span. LOL)
That is all for now.
B-bye.

'Charlie Terry'? Hmmm... "Terry Schroeder McCawley" - I like it. :)
Good tip also Cindy, on those stretchy waist expander things... not that I'm pregnant, but I am a few pounds heavier than I'd like again and I'm thinking about my fave tight jeans... (grin)
YAY BABY COMING!!!
Anyway, tonight for sure.
I took quick photos last night of myself and will do a blog tonight. Just for you auntie Laura! x0
