Activities While Confined to Bed Rest
So as previously mentioned... I'm on modified bed rest. The modified means I'm allowed to be up and about periodically to bath, eat and other non invasive things that would take too long. No more walks. Huge bummer. But whatever it takes to keep Sweet Pea in a bit longer! They done this a precautionary as most of you know. Fine by us.
Its not just sit still; its LIE still. Feet up on my back. Bed rest off work sounds lovely to so many but once I started to point out its actually pretty limiting folks start to realize... right... it could start driving a person batty!
Therefore I'm trying to come up with a nice variety of back activities (keep it clean):
Reading; easy one, just need good books. My baby name books came in so those are good filler. I also ordered some new graphic novels in the Bone series I like. And am currently reading a great novel titled Skippy Dies as a group effort along with my sister Sarah... book club, yes.
Surfing the net; so you might all start receiving lots of communication... but really, I get bored of the net quicker than you might believe.
Video game action; I think this threatens Chris' territory a little but he'll live. He's nervous but he'll be okay, won't you Chris?
Smut magazine reading; People etc... but again, will bore me quickly
Sudoku; good for me brains
And I think the best thing that might happen is that I will use this confined time to devote to learning how to knit! Laying on your back is limiting. I can't sew, bake, silk screen... But knit! I could knit. And make my mama proud. My only issue is that there is zero yarn kicking around. Sending Chris out for that is not an option so I might have to do that one thing, or maybe make Sarah do it.
The idea is that we get a good couple more weeks before Sweet Pea comes so I'd like to be prepared.
I was also told what times each CBC Radio and CBC Radio 2 were great to listen to so I just added them to our TV channel faves for quick dial up.
Going along with all of this is of course is what this puts on Chris. Each day that I would be at work, he's already used to minding Jordan and he'll have to keep that up even though I'm home. He's a good man and is up for it though. As well as taking care of me so that I don't always have to get up for need or want of anything, but I'll go easy on him there because there's still a whole list of things to be done either cleaning or picking stuff up. I still had so much to do!
Wish us luck!
