Bedtime Ridiculousness

So our good bedtime boy has been morphing into the "push the limits" boy. As expected would happen at this age!

Requests for more stories, water and certain toys either being added to his bed or removed for more comfort have all become part of the delayment of bedtime. (that's not a word - I know)

Tonight's story is pretty funny though. Most of you know the layout of our place is that most of our living/bedroom space is on one floor. Our rooms are just past the kitchen and Jordan's doorway has a perfect view of the main floor. The only saving grace for us is the kitchen counter that blocks the sofa. So Chris and I are both sitting low on the sofa so he can't see us because tonight, after the time change especially, Jordan just will not go down. We've put the gate up to keep him from leaving his room, but he's constantly coming back to the door. As I sit here I'm updating the blog. He knows we're both here. He finally went back to bed but left the door open so after a few minutes Chris went and shut it. Barely making it back to the sofa Jordan comes to his door and says "Why'd you do dat? Hello? Mommy? Why'd you do dat?" I blame my cough but a cough/laugh burst out from me that I couldn't contain. Of course this brought on more chatter from his doorway but we stayed quiet and out of sight. Jordan did pipe up and say "Why you funny mommy?"

Then he threw his sippy cup of water over the gate... waited a moment then said "My water! Daddy, my water!" Again we giggled. We held tight though. Eventually Jordan asked again for his water, got it, cried that Chris left him but has now finally gone to sleep... or so we think. 9pm standard eastern time.
